About Dominick Moreno
Moreno, at 32 years of age, has proven to be a rising star in Colorado.
Born and raised in Adams County, he graduated from Adams City High School as valedictorian. He was named a Daniel’s Fund Scholar and attended Georgetown University. After graduation, Moreno returned home to give back to the community that raised him and shaped his values.
He was elected as a Commerce City councilman at the age of 24. From there, he ran for the State House of Representatives where he served for four years, the last two years as Assistant Majority Leader.
In 2016, he was elected to the State Senate representing Adams County. His colleagues selected him to serve on the Joint Budget Committee, which is responsible for writing and balancing Colorado’s $28 billion annual budget--a rare distinction for a freshman senator.
Some of the bills that Moreno has sponsored include legislation providing universal breakfast to students in all low-income schools; ensuring data centers remain in Colorado, saving hundreds of high-quality jobs; and balancing the state budget while keeping the senior homestead property tax exemption intact.
